Produced by The Perth Mint as part of the Lunar Series III, the 2022 2 oz Australian Silver Year of the Tiger is offered to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with a certificate of authenticity. The coin is made of 99.99% fine silver and becomes the third launch of the series. With a face value of $2 (AUD), the piece is a legal tender backed by Australian Government.

The obverse depicts Jody Clark’s portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. A sixth-generation design that includes her neckline and shoulders. The design was created for the Royal Mint of England in 2015.

The reverse features a majestic adult fearless tiger standing on a rocky terrain featuring ferns and bamboo followed by a young tiger cub. The design includes the inscription ‘Tiger 2022’, the Chinese character for ‘tiger’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The magnificent animal is considered the ruler of the beasts on Earth as opposed to the dragon which rules the beasts in the sky and heavens. Tigers are powerful animals they symbolize heroism and longevity and are believed in ancient China to be able to eat evil spirits, or at least cause them to flee, and can in general protect people from misfortune.

People born under the sign of the Chinese lunar ox in 2022, 2010, 1998, 1986, 1974, 1962, 1950, 1938, 1926, and every 12th preceding year are known to bestow determination, courage, confidence and charm.

Undeniably a unique acquisition for people born under the sign of the tiger in the Chinese lunar calendar or to anybody enchanted by the history of the series and what it represents.
