The film emphasizes the central importance of cells in life, that living cells can only arise from other living cells by cell division, and distinguishes mitosis (nuclear division) from cytokinesis (cell division). 3D animations include how the mitotic spindle is assembled and chromosomes attaching to spindle fibers.
