Produced by The Royal Canadian Mint since 1979 the 2022 1 oz Gold Canadian Maple Leaf coin represents the 43th anniversary of the series.

Four years after the series debut, the Mint raised the purity of the coins to 99.99%. A historical event since it was the first bullion coin to be struck from 99.99% pure gold.

The series currently features a total six weights that include 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/20 oz, and 1 Gram gold coins.

The Gold Maple Leaf bullion series remains today as one of the most regarded for its purity and quality and one of the most sought-after coins in the United States.

The obverse of the coin depicts a fourth-generation bust portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II without a crown, created by Susanna Blunt, representing the second portrait of a British monarch for Canadian coins ever created by a Canadian artist.

The reverse of the coin features iconic national emblem, the sugar maple leaf found on the Canadian flag, surrounded by governmental agency shields and logos of private entities such as the NHLs Toronto Maple Leaves and the airline Air Canada, as well as a micro-laser engraved privy.
